We are working collectively with two architect firms who
regularly work in collaboration together on large projects,
CoLab Architects and Urban Function Architecture + Design.
The club provided an initial scope report and through ongoing
consultation, we are pleased to present the following draft plans
for the new facility.
Urban Function Architecture in collaboration with CoLab
Architecture are a joint venture of fresh young Christchurch
Architects and Designers who are involved in the redevelopment of
the existing surf club facilities at Spencer Park beach. The
proposed building complex has been designed for modern patrol
requirements and clubhouse operation. With consideration to future
expansion of club member numbers, requirements of equipment
storage facilities and local community use in mind.
A modern interpretation of the traditional 'club house' style
building designed to meet the club's well considered brief,
alongside careful environmental consideration due to the nature of
the site in it's surrounding context. Long term sustainability of
both building and it's relationship to it's natural environment are
paramount in this exciting development currently in planning phase.
Urban Function and CoLab are proud to be associated with the club
and are fully committed to driving the club's vision forward to
reality in the near future.
